SUMMARY:CYBER SECURITY BUILDING HUMAN FIREWALL
DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW \nCybersecurity threats continue to grow in frequency and sophistication\, with many successful attacks targeting people rather than technology. Employees are often the first line of defence against phishing\, social engineering\, ransomware\, data breaches and other cyber risks. \nThis two-day programme is designed to build a strong Human Firewall within the organisation by increasing cybersecurity awareness\, promoting secure digital behaviour\, and equipping participants with practical skills to identify\, prevent and respond to cyber threats. Through interactive discussions\, case studies\, simulations and hands-on exercises\, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence required to protect organisational information assets and contribute to a stronger cybersecurity culture. \n  \nLEARNING OUTCOMES \nUpon completion of this programme\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand fundamental cybersecurity concepts and current cyber threat trends.\nIdentify common cyber attacks\, including phishing\, malware\, ransomware\, and social engineering.\nRecognise suspicious emails\, websites\, links\, and online activities.\nApply cybersecurity best practices when handling organisational information and digital assets.\nStrengthen password management and authentication practices.\nProtect sensitive and confidential data from unauthorised access and disclosure.\nRespond appropriately to cybersecurity incidents and security breaches.\nContribute to building a cyber-aware and security-conscious workplace culture.\n\n  \nCOURSE OUTLINE \nDAY 1: Cybersecurity Awareness & Threat Identification \nModule 1: Introduction to Cybersecurity \n\nUnderstanding cybersecurity fundamentals\nThe importance of human factors in security\nCurrent cyber threat landscape\nCybersecurity trends and organisational risks\nConsequences of cyber incidents and breaches\n\nModule 2: Understanding Common Cyber Threats \n\nMalware\, viruses\, worms and trojans\nRansomware attacks and business disruption\nBusiness Email Compromise (BEC)\nInsider threats and accidental exposure\nData breaches and information theft\n\nModule 3: Social Engineering Attacks \n\nWhat social engineering means in daily work\nPsychological manipulation techniques used by attackers\nPhishing\, spear phishing and whaling\nVishing (voice phishing) and smishing (SMS phishing)\nReal-world attack case studies and lessons learned\n\nModule 4: Phishing Detection Workshop \n\nIdentifying phishing emails and suspicious attachments\nRecognising fake websites and login pages\nURL inspection and link verification techniques\nSafe browsing practices for work and personal devices\nPractical phishing simulation exercises\n\nModule 5: Cybersecurity Best Practices \n\nSafe internet usage and digital hygiene\nEmail security guidelines\nSecure use of social media and messaging platforms\nMobile device security\nRemote working security practices\n\n  \nDAY 2: Data Protection\, Incident Response & Human Firewall Culture \nModule 6: Password Security & Access Control \n\nCommon password vulnerabilities and risky habits\nCreating strong and memorable passwords\nUsing password managers securely\nMulti-factor authentication (MFA)\nAccess control principles and least privilege\n\nModule 7: Data Protection & Information Security \n\nUnderstanding sensitive and confidential information\nData classification and proper handling\nPersonal Data Protection Act (PDPA) awareness\nSecure file sharing\, storage and disposal\nData loss prevention practices\n\nModule 8: Incident Response for Employees \n\nRecognising security incidents and warning signs\nReporting procedures and communication channels\nImmediate response actions for employees\nEscalation process and evidence preservation\nLessons learned from cyber incidents\n\nModule 9: Building a Human Firewall Culture \n\nSecurity awareness responsibilities\nCreating a cyber-aware workplace\nSecurity habits and behaviour at work\nManaging cyber risks in daily operations\nLeadership and employee roles in cybersecurity\n\nModule 10: Cybersecurity Simulation & Action Planning \n\nCyber attack scenario exercise\nTeam-based threat response activities\nKnowledge assessment and review\nPersonal cybersecurity action plan development\nCourse review\, discussion and commitment to action\n\n  \nMETHODOLOGY \n\nInteractive Lectures (30%): facilitator-led presentations\, group discussions and knowledge sharing sessions\nCase Studies (20%): analysis of real cyber incidents\, lessons learned and best practice discussions\nPractical Exercises (20%): phishing detection activities\, password security exercises and cyber risk identification\nSimulations & Role Plays (20%): social engineering simulations\, incident response scenarios and team-based challenges\nAssessment & Reflection (10%): knowledge quizzes\, group presentations and individual action planning
